NORWAC received an emergency fund of 6,8 mill NOK, from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to respond to the emergency situation in Gaza. The funds were granted for medicines and medical disposables to hospitals in Gaza.

Working in the most challenging of circumstances, our local partner Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP-UK) inside Gaza, managed to respond to the current emergency by purchasing medicines and medical disposable from the open market inside Gaza and delivering it to hospitals (14.10.23).

NORWAC also managed through partner Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), to get medication, medical disposables and lab reagents into Gaza with the first convoy on Saturday (21.10.23). Our health response team, Dr. Mads Gilbert and our CEO, Dr. Erik Fosse are still waiting in Cairo and are ready to enter Gaza as soon as possible.

We are collaborating with NGO partners to advocate for immediate and safe access for humanitarian supplies and for health personnel to enter Gaza.
